Does it hurt to remove your tonsils as an adult?

I am getting my tonsils removed because I snore alot and its caused by my tonsils…which is one of the reasons why i cant sleep…secondly i had mono recently and as a result my tonsils enlarged and have no gone down, its been about 2 months…How is the pain from removal?

I had mine taken out when I was about 20. Sure it hurt for a few days but in the long run it was so worth it. Just make sure any pain killers/meds they give you aren’t giant pills! They gave me these horse pills and I couldn’t even swallow my own spit. Idiots. I had to squish them up and put them in a liquid. Tasted yucky.
